Trust, Privacy & Safety
We built DIVRGNT to help families connect with more confidence, more clarity, and stronger boundaries. This page offers a simple overview of how we approach privacy, community expectations, and safer interactions on the platform.
Connection should feel safer from the start
DIVRGNT is designed for parents and legal guardians of neurodivergent children who want to build local connection in a more thoughtful way. Because families may be sharing personal context, we aim to keep privacy, boundaries, and respectful conduct central to the experience. This page is a summary for easy reading, and our full Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions still apply.
What information we collect
We collect only the information needed to help families connect and use the app. This includes your email, display name, and coarse location such as city-level information. Profile details like neurodivergent traits, support needs, and connection goals are shared voluntarily to improve matching relevance.
How we use your information
Your information is used to support account creation, matching recommendations, and chat between matched users. DIVRGNT does not sell or share identifiable user data with third parties for advertising.
Children are not users of DIVRGNT
DIVRGNT is for parents and legal guardians who are 18 and older. Children do not create accounts or use the platform directly, and we do not collect identifiable information about children. Child photos are prohibited, and profiles should use general age ranges and non-identifying descriptions only.
Community boundaries matter here
DIVRGNT is designed for respectful, peer-to-peer connection. Harassment, bullying, intimidation, inappropriate behavior, or attempts to pressure users for personal details are not allowed and may result in immediate removal from the platform. Users must not upload child photos, full names, schools, addresses, medical records, or other identifying details about children.
Tools that help protect your experience
Users should be able to control who can interact with them and act quickly if something feels wrong. Blocking and reporting are important safety features, and blocking a user should immediately stop profile visibility and direct contact between those accounts. We may remove inappropriate content or restrict accounts when needed to protect the community.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable, industry-standard measures to help protect accounts and user data. However, no online platform can guarantee absolute security, so we encourage users to share thoughtfully and avoid posting sensitive information that does not need to appear on a profile.
Your choices and control
You can update or delete your profile information, and you can block another user if you no longer want them to view or contact you. If you have questions about privacy or need account-related support, you can contact us directly.
What DIVRGNT is, and what it is not
DIVRGNT is a platform for peer-to-peer connection between parents and caregivers. It does not provide medical, legal, therapeutic, or educational advice, and users remain responsible for their own decisions, boundaries, and in-person interactions.
Updates to our policies
We may update our Privacy Policy or Terms & Conditions from time to time as DIVRGNT evolves. When significant changes are made, we aim to notify users through the platform or other appropriate channels.
